The Kendu Leaves Collectors Social Security Scheme, 2015

A social security scheme for the Kendu Leave Collectors has been initiated and being implemented since August, 2015. It covers the collectors in the district of Paschim Mednipur, Jhargram, Bankura and Purulia. This scheme provides for one time financial assistance to the registered collector on completion of 60 years of age. Apart from this, he/she can also claim maternity benefit, disability benefit, health assistance. On his/her death, the nominee can claim the death benefit along with funeral assistance. Till date 35845 beneficiaries had been registered in the scheme, As many as 1570 beneficiaries have been asserted under the Scheme till date total disbursement Rs. 9,04,50,000.00 /-

The State Government has fixed the minimum support price @Rs.170.00 per chata (2.5 kg) for the benefit of the poor tribal people of these districts. The collection figure for the crop year since inception is noted below.
